STAT is an acronym for Student Teacher Assistance Team. Teachers and Support Staff meet at the building level to discuss learning problems that a student may be having in the classroom. Through collegial discussions, a plan of interventions is developed. These interventions may include, but are not limited to modifications in the delivery of the curriculum, reduced assignments, and referrals to a variety of school and community resources. The classroom teacher then implements these interventions for a period of time. If the interventions are not working, or if the teacher feels that there has been little progress, the child may be referred to determine if a Case Study Evaluation should be conducted.
