Mr. Jeff Jacobson is a graduate of Sycamore High School, and also holds a Bachelor’s degree from Bradley University in Business Management and Administration, with a minor in Economics and an emphasis in Real Estate.
Post college, Jacobson earned his professional designations from the Appraisal Institute including the SRA and MAI. Combined, these credentials are held by professionals who can provide a wide range of services relating to all types of real property, such as providing opinions of value, evaluations, review, consulting and advice regarding investment decisions, among others. Jacobson also teaches several courses for the Appraisal Institute in Rockford and Chicago.
Mr. Jacobson ran for the Sycamore Community School District #427 Board of Education because community service has always been important to his family. He was born and raised in Sycamore, and two of his children are currently enrolled at Sycamore High School. He is very concerned about the future of our school district, which has an even larger impact on our community. Given the current budget restraints, compliments of the State of Illinois’ budget impasse, he wants to help maintain Sycamore’s reputation as one of the area’s best public school districts.
Jacobson is an active member of the Sycamore Rotary Club, having served as President in 2008/2009. He has also served as president of the Northern Illinois Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, and is a past advisory member of the DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport. Jacobson has also volunteered as soccer coach in the area for thirteen years. However, he is most proud of the fact that he and his wife, Teresa, will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this year.
