Life School
"Transition Outcomes are developed by asking students with disabilities and their parents what is important to them." -Transition Team
This program focuses on functional life skills. Functional academic skills are imbedded into the daily activities. The program is outcome oriented and student driven. Students programs are developed according other personal needs on a daily and weekly basis.
The Transition Program is for students who have an IEP and have completed 4 years of high school and are at least 18 years old. The goal is to provide students with a variety of possible post school outcomes in a real life community based program.The transition program focuses on 5 domains. These are: work, home, community, recreation and leisure, social-interpersonal skills.
Life School was established in the Fall of 2008 through the ongoing efforts of the Sycamore School District #427, Opportunity House, and the Dekalb County Community.
