Welcome to Team Destiny! We are pleased to be teaching your child this year. The teachers your child may have during his / her team block times are:

We have a wide range of teaching experience and we look forward to assisting your child as she / he meets the challenges of eighth grade. We’ve included some informational items below to help your family become acquainted with team procedures.

Contact Times – Team teachers are typically available for phone calls between 7:50 – 8:10 a.m. and 11:00 – 12:15 p.m. Feel free to contact us as needed. The school phone number is 899 – 8170. To facilitate communication, please use the following guidelines.

Concerns that impact your child in all core classes should be directed to the Team Leader, Janene Bowden. She will respond to your request as soon as possible. (jbowden@syc427.org)
Concerns that impact your child in a specific class should be directed to that individual teacher.

Late Work Policy / Absences – All work is expected to be handed in on time in order to enhance the level of learning that takes place during class time. Late work will be accepted for 50% credit the next school day. After this time, no credit will be earned for work handed in. Past experience with this policy has been very positive.

Missing work due to absences can be acquired by reading assignments posted in the room during the following day, contacting the teacher upon returning to school, or contacting a reliable classmate.

www.homeworklive.com. is available on line for class assignments and resource materials or websites. Students will be setting up accounts at school for Team Destiny, and parents can set up separate accounts. Homeworklive is secondary to the use of the assignment notebook. Your child should make daily use of their assignment notebook.

Midterm Reports – These are sent home four weeks into a new quarter. Our team will mail reports only for students whose grades are in the D or F range at midterm. Your child’s graded work is a good indicator of performance in each class. Ask to review your student’s graded work in order to keep in touch with his or her performance. If you have concerns, it is a good idea to call or e-mail the individual teacher.

Help Sessions –Teachers will be available every morning, except Wednesdays, beginning at 7:50 a.m. to give students extra help as needed. If a specific teacher needs to be seen before or after school, a student should contact that person in advance to make sure the teacher is available on a specific day.

Important information: Team Destiny's permission slips for the Brewers game, along with the electronic permission slip and the $15 is due (no exceptions) on April 25th by 1:00 PM.
