Music Lab

Musical Instrument Digital Interface or MIDI is being used in many ways in Sycamore Middle School computer labs. SMS students are using “M-Audio’s” 49 key MIDI keyboards to learn standard music notation and composition in the computer labs. Software programs being used are: “Beginning Piano Master Class” by PG Music, “Music Write” by Voyetra and “Band-in-a-Box” by PG Music. A “Creative Lab” soundcard that supports MIDI has been added to each computer that allows each student to work independently on headsets and interfaces with the keyboards.
