The high school has a full-time nurse on duty. The nurse monitors student illness and injuries, treats minor
injuries, dispenses medications, and counsels students on health-related programs. The nurse is also available
to answer questions and provide advice to parents on health-related concerns. In addition, she does yearly vision
and hearing screenings. The nurse keeps the school's health records and works with the County Health Department
on student physicals and immunizations. She serves as the building coordinator for special health-related programs
involving outside organizations. Her responsibilities also include processing the initial paperwork needed to set
up tutoring services for students homebound by long-term illness or injury.
