Below are various activities that the K-Kids organization at Southeast has done at our monthly meetings. Each year the K-Kid Officers and Sponsors try and plan a new monthly project to help better our school, community and world. The activities below will give you an idea of the type of things that go on at our monthly meetings. |
The new K-Kid groups learns about K-Kids and what our purpose is. We spend this meeting getting to know one another and do team building games and activities to make us feel comfortable with one another. |
In honor of MLK Jr. Day. K-Kids spend the time doing something for the other elementary schools in Sycamore. Last year, K-Kids designed and decorated a peace message that the schools hung for the rest of the year. |
In our December meeting we spend time coming together and a group and playing games. A special event this month involves K-Kids helping out at Southeast’s Cocoa and Caring. |
Members spend this month by helping our school become a better place. The K-Kid group is in charge of organizing the all school writing event in this month. In years past, our all school writing event has had each classroom writing to their favorite author. |
This month we prepare the K-Kids group to help raise money for UNICEF. During this meeting we learn about what UNICEF is and how the money we raise will support children in other countries. The students will dress up and go out to raise money after school one day at the end of October. |

Members try and brighten the day of a sick child. Through the www.makeachildsmile.com website, we locate several children with serious illnesses. We spend this meeting making a card for them to be sent off before Valentine’s Day. |
In order to promote character building, the K-Kids put on an assembly for the rest of Southeast. At our meeting we develop skits centered around our Core Value of the month, which is loyalty. The K-Kids act out these skits at an assembly at a later date. |
This month our yearly fundraiser takes place at Southeast’s Fun Fair. After deciding as a group where to donate any money raised, the K-Kids come up with activity that we could do to raise that money. |
This month is our last meeting with this group of K-Kids. We spend this month celebrating our accomplishments and wrapping up activities from the year. |
