Welcome Back to another exciting school year at South Prairie Elementary!

“Life might be a moving target”, but education should not be! In 2011-12, the staff at South Prairie Elementary will target student achievement and progress. We will focus on giving our students an education that will serve them well in the future! Sycamore has such a wonderful blend of small town charm and big city opportunities. South Prairie will offer just that too – a warm, inviting environment and dedication to our children. We will provide opportunities for our students to maximize their potential as we focus on the Core Values of the district’s Strategic Design Plan and solid instruction based on best practices. This year our goals will focus on literacy, building climate, and our student’s “Response to Interventions” targeting student information and assessment data to ensure learning is our primary target!

 Early Childhood Special Education
The Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Program is now housed at South Prairie. This program serves 3-5 year olds with special education needs. Currently there is a morning and an afternoon session. We welcome Mrs. Megan Borrelli as our ECSE classroom teacher! For more information….call 815-899-8299.
