 Congratulations to our student athletes for a terrific showing at the IESA State Track & Field Meet! Dion Hooker finished 7th in the 400 meter dash and Meredith Whisenhunt finished 8th in the high jump.
The following students qualified for state: Lilia Edwards, Nicole Bronowicz, Tristyn Criswell, Christina Dailey, Baylee Foresman, Hanna Gross, Briana Iwans,Katherine Kohler, Maggie Lalowski, Meredith Whisenhunt, Dion Hooker, Tyler Barton, and Dylan Foster. Congratulations to all of our state qualifiers and their performances.

Kyle Akins 5th place at 101lbs

 Congratulations to Sycamore High School Art students who won the Battle of the Arts contest sponsored by Brian Bemis. Various high school art students painted a wrapped Scion and patrons then voted for their favorite.
 Recently, music students from Sycamore’s Middle School and High School had a wonderful opportunity to participate in Cello Fest 2010. This is the first music fest of its kind specifically for cellists, as they spent the day working with guest clinician Dr. Janina Ehrlich, Professor of Music and head of the string area at Augustana College.
Congratulations to the SHS Varsity Boy’s Bowling Team who finished in 9th place at the IHSA State Bowling Finals. Also congratulations to Austin Ricker and Kyle Edwards who finished in the top 64 individuals.
The English Department at Sycamore Middle School is proud to announce this year’s Spelling Bee winners. First place: Casey Bunge and Runner Up: Angelina Ye
The Sycamore High School Jazz Ensemble was selected to perform at this year’s IMEA All-State Music Conference.
The Sycamore High School Wrestling team won the 2010 Regional title.
Sycamore High School student Chelsea Royalty won the Sycamore Girls Bowling Sectional and advances to the IHSA State Bowling Finals.
The Sycamore Middle School Wrestling Team placed 8th at the IKWF State Dual Championship.
Congratulations go to Madeline Dinatale and Jennifer Kuo from team SEGUE at the middle school! These young ladies earned a high score of 1023 points on this year's Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl! They placed 6th in the entire state of Illinois.

 Pictured above are students in the Interrelated Cooperative Education (I.C.E.) work program at SHS who recently sponsored a holiday food drive to benefit the Sycamore Food Pantry.
 Winners of the Sycamore Middle School's annual magazine drive were recently treated to a limo lunch. Students raised over $3000 to help fund field trips, special programs, and other needs for the classrooms.
 A sixth grade student recently won GRAND PRIZE in the Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Authority of Northern Illinois' Water Conservation Poster Contest. He won $2000 in CDW (Computer Discount Warehouse) gift certificates for our school and a $500 US Savings Bond for himself. Another sixth grader won Honorable Mention and a $75 US Savings Bond. Our congratulations go out to these young artists!

Sycamore Middle School student Maggie Lalowski qualified for the state Cross County Meet in Bloomington.
The Sycamore Middle School Boys Cross Country Team participated in the state meet on Saturday, October 17,2009. Mark Stice finished in 11th place in the state. Congratulations Mark and the entire team.
 Mrs. Rhodora Collins of the DeKalb County Farm Bureau presented a donation of 25 agricultural books to North Grove Elementary School. Included in the picture are Librarian Nancy Cordes, Principal Ryan Janisch, and Mrs. Holder and her fourth grade students.
Sycamore High School student Claire Mogren has been announced as a semi finalist for the 2010 National Merit Scholarship Program. Congratulations Claire for such a terrific honor!
Sycamore Middle School student Kaily Mulligan won Grand Champion Baker, Grand Champion Sewer, and Grand Champion Needle Worker at this year’s Sandwich Fair. Congratulations, Kailey!
 Two North Grove Elementary students cut the ribbon to officially open the doors of North Grove Elementary School.
