Acceleration and Enrichment
As we strive to empower all learners to be successful in their world we recognize that there are students who will need further challenge. In grades 3-5 students who require additional challenge in Math participate in the Walk to Learn program. These students walk up to the next grade level for their math instruction each day. In grades K-5 teachers work with small groups of students in reading to ensure that each child is given the opportunity to learn and grow at their level. At the middle school, students requiring extra challenge are given the opportunity to participate in an accelerated English/Language Arts class as well as an accelerated Math class. At the high school level students have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of Advanced Placement (AP) and Dual Credit classes, both of which can count toward college credit. If you have further questions about these options for your child please contact your building principal.
Intervention and Support
Response to Intervention, or RTI, is an early intervention system that provides supports to students who struggle academically or behaviorally. By providing a strong core curriculum as well as research-based interventions to student who need them, the goal of success for all students can more readily be attained.
