We are excited to welcome Sycamore alum, Madeline Kuhn, back to the Sycamore Community!
Madeline graduated Class of 2013 and continued her education at Northern Illinois University to obtain her degree in elementary education. Madeline attended North School for elementary. She reflects fondly on her first, second, and third grade years in Mrs. Parsons class, who inspired her to become a teacher. Her favorite memory was Thanksgiving in class because they had a big feast every year and came together as a big family.
In her free time, Madeline likes to read, volunteer, travel, and spend time with family. She is also a member on the board for the annual Turning Back Time Car Show. She loves being in a community that is so close and Pumpkinfest is her favorite holiday!
Madeline was excited to decorate her classroom and put her students names on everything at the beginning of the school year. It made the experience of being a new teacher feel more real! Her goal for the first day of school was to learn at least one fact about each of her students and to get them excited about learning. She hopes that the children in our community know how important they are and feel empowered and supported.
