- Message from the Superintendent
Dear Sycamore Community School District 427 community,
We are excited to update you on the progress we’ve made with our Strategic Planning process. Based on your valuable feedback and the work of our Board of Education, we have finalized our District Goal Statements for each key domain. As outlined previously, the community survey results gathered during the fall of 2023 led us to focus on five crucial domains for our district's future growth.
Here are the finalized District Goal Statements for each domain:
Domain 1: Learning and Teaching
District Goal: Promote success in both academic and social-emotional settings by exploring and implementing evidence-based, inclusive, learner-centered practices.
Domain 2: Operations
District Goal: Secure sustainable funding to support academic support and success, ensuring equitable access to resources and facilities for all students.
Domain 3: Human Resources
District Goal: Provide a positive, safe, and supportive working atmosphere where people want to work and come back the next day.
Domain 4: Instructional Technology
District Goal: Support the use of technology for learning and teaching, and to facilitate student success.
Domain 5: Communications
District Goal: To foster a strong, interconnected school community through strategic communication.
These goal statements will guide our strategic initiatives and ensure that we are addressing the needs and priorities identified by our community.
I am pleased to share that the comprehensive one-page Strategic Plan document is now available for review. You can view the document here. This document provides a clear and concise overview of our mission, vision, goals, and our graduate profile, the Portrait of a Spartan. We have also built out a dedicated page on our website documenting our goals. We will also provide updates on this page, so that we can continue to inform our community of our progress in each area.
Thank you once again for your dedication to our district. We are excited about the future and the positive impact these goals will have on our students, staff, and community.
Sincerely,
Steve Wilder
Superintendent
