Dear Sycamore Community School District 427 students, families, staff, and community,
We are excited to share the second video in our Portrait of a Spartan monthly disposition series! This year, we are highlighting the eight dispositions that help shape our students into Spartans, and for October, we are focusing on Effective Communicators.
Being an effective communicator means conveying ideas clearly through a variety of modes—written, verbal, and visual—while understanding that good listening is essential. In this month’s video, we visit Mr. Greg D'Addario, TV Production Teacher at Sycamore High School. Mr. D'Addario’s class allows students to refine their communication skills by engaging in real-world video production. This involves everything from scriptwriting and filming to editing and broadcasting. He shares insights on how these experiences help students become more confident and versatile communicators who are ready to share their voices in meaningful ways.
We hope you enjoy seeing how effective communication is brought to life in our high school classrooms and appreciate its role in empowering our students to succeed beyond graduation.
