Sycamore Community School District 427 Announces New Director of Buildings and Grounds
Sycamore Community School District 427 is pleased to announce Scott Winter as the new Director of Buildings and Grounds, effective June 3, 2024. He will replace Mark Ekstrom, who has taken on the role of Principal at Sycamore Middle School for the 2024-25 school year.

"I am excited and honored to be taking this new role,” said Winter. “I look forward to having the opportunity to work with the amazing people in the district and community.”

Mr. Winter brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his new role, having most recently served as the District Maintenance/Warehouse Manager since October 2022. Before working for Sycamore CUSD 427, he held various roles within School District U-46 in Elgin including Senior Buyer and Assistant Buyer/Distribution Center Coordinator. He has over 11 years of experience in school district operations, particularly in warehouse and business office management. His dedication, enthusiasm, and extensive experience make him an ideal candidate for this position.

"I'm delighted to welcome Scott to the Business Services team in his new role as Director of Buildings and Grounds,” said Nicole Stuckert, Assistant Superintendent for Business Services/CSBO. “Scott brings a wealth of expertise from his prior school district, which compliments the experiences he has had here over the last year and a half. I look forward to the positive impact that he will continue to bring while leading our efforts in maintaining top-notch facilities for the benefit of our students, staff, and the community."

Mr. Winter lives in Sycamore with his wife, Katie, and their two children: Lucas and Lucy. Lucas attends North Grove Elementary School as a first grader, and Lucy attends preschool in the community. In his free time, Mr. Winter enjoys spending time with his family and friends, camping, hiking, and traveling to the Northwoods.

Please join us in congratulating Scott Winter as he assumes the position of Director of Buildings and Grounds. We are confident that his leadership will continue to enhance the quality of our educational environment for years to come.
