Sycamore Community School District 427 Announces New Principal of Southeast Elementary School
Sycamore Community School District 427 is pleased to announce Ms. Sarah Frankiewicz as the new Principal of Southeast Elementary School, effective July 1, 2024, for the upcoming school year. She will replace Mrs. Kristina Crawford, who will be retiring after serving nine years in the district, most recently as Principal of Southeast. Ms. Frankiewicz brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her new role, including having served as Assistant Principal of Thompson Middle School in St. Charles School District 303.

Ms. Frankiewicz emerged as the top choice from a pool of highly qualified candidates. After interviews with school staff and district administrators, each candidate's qualifications were carefully assessed. Ms. Frankiewicz's experience and dedication to education set her apart and ultimately led to her selection.

With a career spanning over 20 years in education, Ms. Frankiewicz has consistently demonstrated a commitment to student success and creating inclusive learning environments. Before her most recent role, she spent 17 years at Sycamore Middle School, where she taught grades 6-8 before transitioning to the role of Assistant Principal in 2019. Throughout her time in Sycamore, Ms. Frankiewicz was deeply involved in various aspects of school leadership, including serving on the district PERA committee since its inception and as a founding member of the district's equity team (IDEA). Frankiewicz is also a Sycamore High School alumna and attended Southeast Elementary School as a student.

“I am so grateful to return to Sycamore Community School District as the incoming Principal of Southeast Elementary School. Southeast has such a rich tradition rooted in school pride and academic excellence,” said Ms. Frankiewicz. “I look forward to building relationships with staff, families, and most importantly students to ensure Southeast thrives as the welcoming, supportive community it has always been!”

Ms. Frankiewicz holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Aurora University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from DePaul University. Her educational background, coupled with her extensive experience in teaching and administration, uniquely positions her to lead Southeast Elementary School with enthusiasm and dedication.

"We are very excited to announce that Sarah Frankiewicz is returning to Sycamore as the Principal at Southeast Elementary,” said Superintendent Steve Wilder. “I was fortunate to work with Sarah for a few years prior to her taking her current position, and we are lucky that she will be bringing her student-centered focus, her passion for serving both students and staff, and her enthusiasm back to Sycamore. Like all of our schools, Southeast has a family atmosphere that will be a great fit for Ms. Frankiewicz. I can't wait to see her interacting with the students, staff, and our families again!"

Please join us in welcoming back Ms. Sarah Frankiewicz as the new Principal of Southeast Elementary School. We are excited about the future of Southeast under her leadership.
