Sycamore Community School District 427 Names Jeremy Bell as Chief Operating Officer

Sycamore Community School District 427 is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeremy Bell as the district's Chief Operating Officer (COO). He will start his position on July 1, 2026.

Mr. Bell brings more than 20 years of educational experience to Sycamore Community School District 427, including 13 years of leadership experience at the school and district levels. He most recently served as Assistant Superintendent of Student Services for Oswego Community Unit School District 308. Throughout his career, he has led complex operational initiatives related to student services, school safety, compliance, crisis response, and organizational systems improvement.

“I am truly honored to join Sycamore 427 as Chief Operating Officer,” said Mr. Bell. “I am passionate about serving students, supporting staff, and building strong relationships with families and community members. I look forward to listening, learning, and working alongside this incredible community to ensure every decision reflects our shared commitment to students.”

Before his time in Oswego, Mr. Bell served as Executive Director of Student Services in East Aurora School District 131, where he managed significant departmental budgets, coordinated districtwide compliance and support services, and helped develop systems and procedures that strengthened operations and student support services across the district. He has also served as an assistant principal, bringing a broad perspective on educational leadership and organizational management.

As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Bell will provide leadership and oversight for the district's operational systems and business services, helping ensure that resources, processes, and support structures align with the district's mission of serving students and families.

In a meaningful full-circle journey, Jeremy actually began his career right here in our community at Sycamore Middle School. His career trajectory showcases a steady rise through increasingly complex administrative and district-level systems. Mr. Bell’s expansive professional background, paired with his unique personal connection to Sycamore, makes him uniquely qualified to lead our district’s business and operational infrastructure toward long-term sustainability," said Dr. Kristen Campbell, Superintendent.

Mr. Bell holds master's degrees in Social Work and Educational Leadership from Aurora University and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree. He also holds an Illinois administrative licensure and a Director of Special Education endorsement.
