Sycamore Community School District 427 Names Kristine Leider as Special Education Administrator
Kristine Leider as Special Education Administrator

Sycamore Community School District 427 is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Kristine Leider as the district's new Special Education Administrator, effective July 1, 2026.

The Special Education Administrator position reflects the district's commitment to strengthening support for students with disabilities and their families. This is not a new position within the district; rather, responsibilities previously managed through a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) model have been transitioned to an administrative role to provide additional leadership capacity, clearer reporting structures, and enhanced oversight of special education services across the district.

Ms. Leider brings more than 30 years of experience in education and a strong background in special education leadership, instructional systems, and organizational improvement. Throughout her career, she has focused on building inclusive learning environments and ensuring students receive the services and supports necessary to thrive.

Most recently, Ms. Leider has served as Assistant Director of Special Education for Crystal Lake School District 47. In this role, she oversaw special education processes, collaborated with families and multidisciplinary teams, and led professional learning focused on inclusive practices and compliance with state and federal regulations.

"Every student deserves to feel valued, included, and empowered to reach their full potential,” said Ms. Leider. “I am excited to join the Sycamore learning community and partner with students, families, and staff to help all Spartans thrive."

Prior to her work in Crystal Lake, Ms. Leider served as a principal in Rockford Public Schools District 205 for 15 years. She also began her career as an early childhood educator, providing her with a deep understanding of student development and learning needs.

“We are thrilled to have Ms. Leider join our Sycamore District 427 team this coming school year. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team,” said Dr. Kristen Campbell, Superintendent.

Ms. Leider earned a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from National Louis University and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Southern Illinois University. She also holds an Illinois administrative certification and is currently completing her Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) endorsement.

Please join us in welcoming Ms. Leider to the Sycamore Community School District 427 leadership team.
