Welcome to Our New Website — A Letter from Superintendent Wilder
Dear Sycamore Community,

I want to welcome you to the Sycamore Community School District 427 website, where you will find a wealth of information about our school district. Although the website itself is new as of January 2021, the information you will find here has been carried over from our previous website and has been updated to make it as current as possible. I invite you to take some time to navigate through our pages to learn more about our District.

One of the important elements you will find on this website is our Strategic Plan. This living document was first created many years ago, and it has been revised multiple times to ensure that it evolves as our District grows and changes. Our Strategic Plan communicates our beliefs, core values, and visions for our District. This includes our students, our staff, our families — our community. The longevity of this document demonstrates our commitment to the short- and long-term future of our District. Our Strategic Plan transcends who we are today — it is the connection between our past, our present, and our future.

Our District is a place where students come first. We recognize that a safe learning environment is the key to making students excited, comfortable, and ready to learn. Within a safe environment, we provide curriculum and instruction that is individualized, challenging, and which empowers students to achieve their goals and dreams.

There is an African proverb that tells us it takes a village to raise a child. Although I believe our District offers an excellent education with opportunities for all of our students, we realize that we can’t do it without you. We look forward to partnering and collaborating with you. Please feel free to contact us whenever you have a question, suggestion, or concern.

We have a motto here in Sycamore — that life offers more. While I didn’t personally grow up here, my family and I have certainly found that motto to be true. Our schools are an integral part of life here, and we look forward to partnering with our community to ensure that our District helps “offer more” in Sycamore.

Sincerely,

Stephen M. Wilder
