Welp Named Little Spartans Coordinator

Sycamore Community School District 427 is excited to announce Ms. Niamh Welp has been named the next coordinator of the Little Spartans Early Childhood Program. 

“ We are very excited about the addition of Ms. Welp to the Sycamore family. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this position, which will benefit our students, their families, and our staff. In addition, Ms. Welp is an energetic, caring educator who is easy to work with. I am confident that she will be a valuable member of the leadership team as well as in our Little Spartans program.,” said Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Steve Wilder.

Ms. Welp comes to us from Camelot Therapeutic Day Schools, where she served as an Assistant Principal from 2013-17 and then served as Principal since 2017. Before entering building administration, Ms. Welp was an Autism Specialist/Program Coordinator and school social worker/therapist.

Ms. Welp graduated from Western Michigan University with a B.S. in Social Work and earned  master’s degrees in social work from Wayne State University and educational leadership from Aurora University in 2016.

“I am excited to be the new administrator for our Sycamore Early Childhood program, I am looking forward to working with the Little Spartan program and collaborating with the wonderful staff and families. It will be a great honor to work with staff and families of our littlest learners to provide a positive start to their educational experience,” said Ms. Welp.
