Learning and Teaching
The Office of Learning and Teaching supports the District by creating curriculum, overseeing assessment, and providing professional development. This work ensures a rigorous, engaging and empowering educational experience for all of our students.
Learning and Teaching staff collaborate with teachers throughout the District to create and implement curriculum in all content areas for students in kindergarten through twelfth grades. They also support the assessment of student learning at both the local and state levels. Through this office, quality professional development is provided for teachers to extend their knowledge of best practices as well as to continue to grow as learners themselves.
Standardized Assessments are one of the tools used to measure student progress and make informed decisions.
Learning Standards describe the educational objectives of each grade level and subject.
MTSS is a comprehensive framework designed to improve outcomes for ALL learners.
Each year, the Illinois State Board of Education releases a report card to show performance on a number of educational goals at the school, district, and state levels.
At Sycamore Community School District 427, we pride ourselves on creating authentic learning experiences for our students, and we are excited about the progress we have made. We remain committed to our students and community by continuing to build on the talent of our learners.
