Return to Learning Plan
Since the pandemic began, Sycamore Community School District 427 has based decisions about bringing students back to school on guidance from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and the Dekalb County Health Department (DCHD). In addition, we have followed guidance from the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) and Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) regarding activities at the High School and Middle School levels.
Now, based on continued guidance from these organizations, feedback from our community, and health metrics trending in a beneficial direction, we have updated our Return to Learning plan and continue to move forward with bringing our students back to school.
We believe that our updated Return to Learning plan provides the best opportunity for students to safely return to school, or to voluntarily choose to engage in remote learning. It is the result of our best effort to implement the feelings and desires of our families and staff.
